The Postville Courthouse
Abraham Lincoln Birthday Observance will be February 11, 2012 at Postville
Courthouse, State Historic Site, 914 Fifth St., Lincoln, IL. Brian "Fox"
Ellis will be the featured speaker. He has been touring the world since
1980 sharing stories and song, myth and poetry. His morning presentations
will cover Lincoln's early life and be held at 10:30 am and 11:30 am. The
afternoon will cover William Herndon's Law Partnership with Lincoln with
presentations at 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm. The daylong festivities will include
a scavenger hunt prizes, period music provided by John Sutton and friends,
and tours conducted by Postville volunteers. Members of Lincoln's Logan
County Arts and Craft Guild will serve birthday cake and punch. Hours
are 10 to 4. For more information about this family event please

SCAVENGER HUNT!
Names will be drawn
at noon for 10 prizes awarded by Postville Courthouse in the Abraham Lincoln
Scavenger Hunt contest. Contest questions are available at Lincoln Public
Library, Postville Courthouse, Lincoln Heritage Museum and the Abraham
Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County office or by CLICKING
HERE. Participants who score at least 50 points on the quiz will be
entered in the drawing.
Thank you for your
attendance. We are open Tuesday thru Saturday noon to 4 in the winter and
noon to 5 in the summer. We are open anytime by appointment. Bring your
lunch and have a picnic on our historic grounds. Group meetings can be
arranged summer or winter. We now have a period flower garden and will
be giving tours when the flowers are in bloom. We will discuss the medicinal
purposes of each plant. We are proud of our site and are eager to share
it with everyone!
